Our Wedding

We were introduced in August 2024 through our friend Sarah, an Air Force flight nurse. Elise, also an Air Force flight nurse, was separating from the Air Force to become a civilian nurse, while Anibal was ending a 20-year career as an Air Force helicopter pilot. Upon meeting in Arizona we instantly connected. We began traveling around the world, sharing adventures on the water, in the mountains and on beaches across the globe, from San Diego to Spain. During an unforgettable trip to Mallorca, Anibal proposed to Elise in a historical vineyard overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. For our next adventure, we will be tying the knot in Cozumel, Mexico. We hope that you will join us there!

Angie and I also met at UNC, go bears! In recent years we have spent many days hanging by the lake and enjoying the summers during her off time as a PE teacher.

We met as random roommates freshman year.  Courtney was one of the first people I met at UNC and her genuine friendly nature welcomed me instantly. I get to visit Courtney more often now that I am living closer to Nebraska for a few more football games, Go Big Red!

Welcome to the travel page! Below are a few hotel options posted to get started. There are many other accommodations on Cozumel these are a few that were recommended by our wedding planner that are close to the venue. Anibal and Elise will be staying in Cozumel from 25 November - 2 December 2026 at the Chango Villa with our families.

There is no pre coordinated shuttle service to/from the Cozumel Airport to your hotel/villa. Please make arrangements on your own. The best way to get transportation is a taxi or ask your hotel if there are shuttle services available.

Secrets Aura Cozumel

Travel

There is plenty of beach and ocean activities before and after the wedding. The island offers scuba diving, snorkeling, paddle boarding, surfing, kayaking, sailing, relaxing beaches, pools, and much more. There are a few food options near the venue, Carlos n Charlies a popular beach area. The main downtown square is about a 20 minute drive. Downtown you will find many restaurants, bars, hotels and shopping. There is a ferry from Cozumel to Playa de Carmen that leaves from town. Ask us for more recommendations!
